Superbadge Business Administration Specialist (Challenge 3)

I have built the reports and dashboards as outlined in the requirements, but I'm getting the following error "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: Couldn't find a component with the title 'My Top Accounts'."

Hi Jeremiah,

Although this should not result into this error but check if 'folder' and 'view dashboard as- dashboard viewer' is correctly set. Also try cloning if you get error and delete original and rename back to Rep Scoreboard.

Hey Jeremiah, I just did a detailed check and yours looks exactly like mine (that passed). Not sure what is hanging up the validation. Maybe try recreating that component. 

One note, I have adopted the practice of cutting/pasting the titles, descriptions, subtitles, etc., (rather than typing it myself) in Trailhead mods, as sometimes an extra space might cause an issue.

Also, make sure to refresh the dashboard right before validation. I don't think that would affect this error, but...?

Not sure how you got the Medium rating. Maybe that is causing the issue. I had only Hot, Warm, Cold. Not sure if I had changed the piclist values on Rating field. You can check that was the ask at step. Regards, Yogesh

Recheck your bucket field. Make sure you have :

Utility: Customer-Direct, Customer-Channel
Residential: Residential
Unbucketed : Rest of all

It seems this is incorrect in your report.

To resolve your issue, please refresh your both the Dashboard, as any changes to the report is not reflected, so if you have done any changes in the report, then you need to refresh the Dashboard, then this issue will get resolved.

Hi Ross,
I think you made a mistake while importing data. Under ratings field there is no 'Warm' value. Do a cleanup, delete all the records and import the data as shown in the screen shot here. hope this helps. Please do not go by the error message! They dont litterally mean the exact error!

sometimes we do our hanson on one playground and by mistake we have another playground listed where we check our challenge.

Figured it out. While I stand by my original solution, there is an easier way to sovle this (which is what the challenge is looking for). To summarize the Annual Revenue, change the view from Tabular to Summary, then add the Annual Revenue field to the summary table, and you should be prompted to select how you want the Annual Revenue summarized. Pick Sum. If you're not auto-prompted, you can click the Annual Revenue column header and select "Summarize This Field..."

these are my steps for creating the report. 
I created the custom report accounts with contacts and contacts hobbies. 
Its a matrix report, grouped by hobby type rows (bucket field was created) and then grouped by rating for the columns. User-added image

Thanks @Kumara Murali 21 I went ahead and deleted the records that came with the org and some repeat records from the upload.  Although this did not solve the problem I do hope it is in the right direction.

Got the same error, and fixed deleting the dashboards, recreating them, and validating them chart by chart, the error appeared a couple of times else, but after resfreshing the dashboard, finally I got the challenge pass.

Don't make a new dev org, just make sure you go through the challenge requirements step by step.

For me, the problem was the with filter in the "Open Support Cases" report. It should be  
Status not equal to "Closed"
otherwise it fails the tests.

Thanks to your screenshot I was able to realize how exactly bucketing should be done. This helped me alot to fix my error message for the report. I`d recomment that you read very carefully word by word the requirements and check on the report 1:1. Few things that I made a mistake with:
 
1. I was not bucketing the rest of the categories as "Other".
2. Double-checking I realized my report shows Details, and requirements says to remove that
3. Make sure you run your report for "All times" and it is configured to show "All records"


This is how mine looks like now and I`m not getting an error on it:

After importing the bsx-account file and the suggestion changes in the file , I cannot find the Residential account type.

I use DE and TP without success.

Hello Everyone,

Those who are getting the error to create a new Developer Edition to complete the challenge, you do not need to create as we can fix it simply by pressing Ctrl+F5 or clearing the cache of your browser.

This would fix the issue and would be able to complete the challenge as expected.

If you still stuck up with any other issues and planning to give up, then please refer the below URL and just follow the same steps.

Hi everyone - I am having the same problem as bebijanbegum. I've read through some of the answers and see that the report type should be "Case", not "Cases" as I have. Can anyone explain how to change the Report type to the Case type? I'm brand new to salesforce with no tech background and am doing the best that I can. Any help is appreciated.

Anthony, as far as the Report Type - I don't see the singular Case as available; rather the plural Cases - I think what you've read has been folks referring to the Report Type: Cases colloquially as Case Report instructing others to create a Report Type: Cases rather than Report Type: Accounts with Cases (for example). Attempted:

Cloning Report - Save as a copy - renamed, disassociated original from dashboard - deleted. Then assigned new report to the appropriate dashboard - rechecked function, visually - cannot see any issues - Still Red ERROR above

Verified Folder location - Still error

Verified Filters and criterion - Still error

Closed Browser, Logged Out, Cleared Cache/Cookies - reloaded, logged-in - Still error

Saved In Public Folder - Still error

What am I missing?

@Joe Keasler, I'm hoping you've resolved this by now, but try checking if there are any extra spaces inbetween word or trailing. I have had the same issue where the challenge does not recognize a report because of an extra space anywhere in the name...


Another issue I ran into with this challenge: 'Open Support Cases' is accepted if you use the filter "Closed=False", but NOT if you use the filter "Open=True". Because they are obviously very different. Hopefully this can save somebody else from 30 minutes of frustration.

I usually verify by submitting at each substep (like report1, report2, report3, report4, dashbord1 etc) and move to next one only after clearing sub step.  does it impact the outcome by anychance?

Having just completed Step 3.  Here are my recoomendations that may help prevent some mistakes:  1) create the summary reports in Salsesforce Classic.  2) Read all text and directions not just the highlighted and then read it again particularly in Accounts by Market and Open Support Cases.  3) For the dashboards make sure that you have the correct titles and subtitles.  Then make sure you follow the Chart Details.

So I have seen this question and figured it out with some trial and error. Salesforce probably has a script that looks at a specific folder-- Residential Folder-- that you create prior in the trailhead. If you did not save the report to that folder specifically (instead private or public) then that folder is not being checked. Salesforce would need to check the folder but doesn't find the file name, thus why it states the file does not exist.

If that doesnt work--
1) make sure you spelled it correctly
2) make sure there are no odd spaces or extra spaces in the title

Otherwise, this error really shouldn't show up.

Hy, Your Report Name is wrong. It's 'Rated Account By State' Not 'My Account ....'.
And Configuration for Create reports and dashboards   will be like this.

Hi. I facing the issue below in completing the challenge. I have created report around 5 times and dashboards again 2 times.. I am not sure why the issue is still popping up i even Emptied the recycle bin.
