Data Loader for MacOS Big Sur?

If your trying to run the latest DataLoader 49.0.0 on a Mac with OS 11 (Big Sur) beta it'll only show you blank windows.
This happens also with other Java Apps using older versions of the Eclipse SWT libraries (and is a known issue).
Can we expect a newer version of Data Loader using the latest Eclipsw SWT libraries in the package?

Thx - Andreas

Andreas Dataloader is a free application.

And salesforce doesn't provide support to the data loader.

Yes, you can try a newer version of Data Loader using the latest Eclipse, It might help you.

I hope you find the above information is helpful. If it does, please mark as Best Answer to help others too.

Thanks.

And no I can't try a newer version because I don't have the environment set up to build it myself.
This ist not about Eclipse IDE but about Eclipse SWT libraries used in Data Loader (which is distributed by Salesforce in every Org)

Cheers - Andreas

You can use the data loader but there is no official document I can provide you.

Andreas, have you figured this out yet? Having the same issue myself.

Sorry, no news yet. I also raised an issue here: https://github.com/forcedotcom/dataloader/issues in the hope to get an update sometime soon.

I'm having the same issue, Big Sur 11.0.1 (not beta)

Data loader was working fine before the update.

I've tried without sucess:
  • Reinstall data loader
  • Reinstall Zulu

This isn't ideal but after fooling around I got it to work by: 1) Turning Dark Mode off (so Light Mode on); 2) Launching Data Loader and clicking around the white box and then bam it showed up and worked.  Hopefully it will get fixed for real soon.

Joe, this helps a bit, but it is still not working. I drag the window between screens and then they populate. BUT, after choosing the csv file, I am not getting to the next window.

Same issue as everyone esle. I've spent all morning trying to fix it. As another user has pointed out, I've gotten it to work up to selecting a csv file, but then clicking 'Next' is a dead-end and the next window will not come up.

I am encountering the same issue. I can get as far as choosing a file and an object, but the 'Next' button is unresponsive.

I am having the same issues. I installed version 50.0.0 and have same issues.

I had the same issue and it went away as soon as I reinstalled Catalina - this issue affects multiple Java applications that use the older SWT libraries

Same issue here. Very annoying. I am normally a PC user and switched to MAC due to my new employer. Not being able to do a simple data operation feels like someone took my legs away. I tried dataloaderio and workbench. Both worked but come on! Good luck to others in trying to accomplish their tasks without Data Loader in Big Sur.

Salesforce is going to fix this soon, meanwhile they've updated dataloader to work on Big Sur, here's the reply they've offerder.

It's working for me, on Big Sur 11.0.1 not Beta

Thanks Joe...this worked enough for me so I can at least use Data Loader.

I had the same issue and wasn't able to identify a work around. The link Daniel Martinez Cruz 9 posted above solved the issue for me. Much appreciated!

It looks like Salesforce has not updated this documentation (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=installing_the_data_loader.htm&type=5) (and this dataloader java app) to work on Big Sur.

Alternatively, you can use:
  1. the free version of dataloader.io (https://dataloader.io/) (within limits) to run your data loads
  2. the data import wizard
  3. workbench (https://workbench.developerforce.com/login.php) (while this is still available - likely to retire soon from what I am hearing through the grapevine)
  4. IF you're working in SFDX and feel comfortable with the CLI, you can connect to an org and use these data commands (https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.sfdx_cli_reference.meta/sfdx_cli_reference/cli_reference_force_data.htm) to load data.
These are all your options short of exploring the bulk API (or REST) with tools like Postman (https://developer.salesforce.com/blogs/2020/03/explore-the-salesforce-apis-with-a-postman-collection.html).

As a follow up, I found this Big Sur fix for Data Loader (API v50) (https://github.com/forcedotcom/dataloader/files/5599246/dataloader_mac.zip) from the comment thread on this github issue page (https://github.com/forcedotcom/dataloader/issues/217). I just downloaded & installed - it works perfectly fine for me.

I tried this method on my client's website (https://robloxidshub.com/) but still do not get any positive results. The website is providing the music codes of Roblox, Please linked a verified solution for this problem!

Having trouble installing this new file linked above - I get the zip file but unsure what to do from there, can anyone provide more detailed steps?  All fo the files contained within are either looking like dead ends or blcoked from my machine.
