How to allow OLD pick list values when converting Lead to Opportunity

Hi All,

we have enabled [Restrict picklist to the values defined in the value set ]in Lead. How to allow OLD pick list values when converting Lead to Opportunity for this we are using Custom meta data for new Picklist values is allowing but Old pick list values is not allowing.

Can you please check,if you have the dependent value set for the picklist  values which is getting updated when the Lead is getting converted.

Also,I would suggest you to try by removing the "Restrict picklist to the values defined in the value set" on the picklist field to troubleshoot further on this.
