Home page components

Hi is there anyway to keep a home page component on the left side if you move to another tab like accounts and contacts i got some javascript which i am assuming if the user is not on the home tab it will not work?

They always stay on left for me when I move to other objects screens.

that is weird i have added a html component which renders a visualforce page in an iframe but it disappears when going to different object tabs
