Remove "Name at Company" from Home Tab

Is there a way to remove the "Name at Company" text from the Home Tab?

I am afraid NO. You cannot customize the welcome message in the home tab. Also you cannot remove the standard home page and have your custom page too, as salesforce mandates to have home tab in all apps you build.
