Restricting triggers to page layouts??

I know we can retrict triggers to profiles but can we restrict triggers to certain page layouts only? thanks!

You can't restrict on the page layout, as you aren't associated with a page when the trigger fires.

 

You can restrict by record type, and you can specify a page layout per record type, so maybe that's the way to go.
