Case Owner can't edit their own case

Hi Everyone,

Case owner can't edit his own case once the status is set to “in progress with requester”.
Is there any way we can give case owners rights, so that they can edit the case if it is set to “in progress with requester”?

Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

Is this in an Approval process : "in progress with requested" . Looks like there is a Validation rule running in the background which is not allowing the record owner to edit based on the status.

It seems that your Case record is locked coz it's inside an approval process (is that correct?). This could be potentially the issue why the Case Owner also cannot edit the case (Record Locking option is a part of the Approval process steps actions that when a record is within the approval process, it will remain locked till the time it gets approved/rejected)

You may want to check if this is the case. You can change the Record locking setting in the approval process, although it is a good practice to lock the record when it gets submitted for approval, so that the requestor does not change anything after submitting the record for approval.

Hope this helps!
