how to add custom button in related list salesforce

Hi,

how to add custom button in related list in page layout in salesforce, My button is not showing in avilable buttons, Is this somthing related permission issue.

HiKarthick,

Go to Buttons and links choose list button and create it. After crating it go to the page layout of the parent object. In the page layout inside the related list section. Click on the wrench icon.  Choose the button and select it.

Your button type should be Link page Button rather than Detail page button.

In case anyone else has this issue with the custom button Related List button not showing up after you create it, I had the same issue.  It took me a while to realize I needed to add it to the child object instead of the parent.  I'm guessing that was Karthik's issue as well (although it could have been something else of course).
