Which workflow tool to use.

If I create a workflow using the basic workflow tool or the process builder, then later it becomes too complex to manage there, can I edit the workflow using Visual Workflow, even though I didn't create it there?

Unfortunately, no. The processes built within each of these tool exist independantly from each other.

Thanks.  That's unfortunate, maybe SF should consider adding a migrate or promote function of some sort.

I agree. Some sort of conversion wizard would be cool, although likely would only be workflow to process builder. Visual workflow is a whole different beast!
