I'm trying to complete the Security Specialist superbadge. Getting stuck on Step 1: Error message: The Sales Executive User does not appear to have the correct object permissions for Accounts and Opportunities.

I've gone to the Sales Executive Profile and set Read Only for Accounts and Opportunities Objects.  I even set a series of Sharing Rules for both Accounts and Opptys to view for everything created by both Inside Sales and Field Sales.

Hi,

Try to remove all the View All Object permissions from the Profile if you have them, and create the neccessary sharing rules to share with the Roles that require access to all records.Refer below link.

Hi ,

Try to Use New Trailhead Playground for Superbadges instead of using your regular playground.
Check for Required packaged install on your trailhead (Trailhead Security superbadge managed package). Focus on Pre work of challenge.

After doing above mentioned step check for OWD setting for Account and opportunity which have proper default access. Clone Existing Standard profile. Closely look into Inside sales and Field sales user profile and set required setting as mentioned into superbadge use case. Please double check those two profile settings.

You need to look your Org wide Default setting and after it is define properly you need to do settings in profile only to pass First step in this super badge.

If my Replay is helpful to you. Mark it as solution for others to understand better.

Thanks,

Kishan

Sandhya, I selected the 'View All' checkboxes on both Accounts and Opportunites along with the Read checkbox on the SE Profile and it passed. All other suggestions have been to uncheck the View All checboxes.  Still not sure why this work but it passed.  Thanks for your reply

Kishan,  Thanks for your suggestions and I did do all those prior to taking on this challenge. I didn't touch OWD.  I did finally pass the challenge without touching them. But, out of curosity what should the OWD have been?
