How can we delete the members in a public group to remove dependency for deleting the group ?

NagendraNagendra (Salesforce Developers)
Hi Sanson,

Groups can be made up of other Groups, Users, Roles, etc. Check under Admin Setup->Manage Users->Public Groups to see how the Group is defined.

If the user is added manually (explicitly) to the group then they can be removed. If they are part of the group by proxy, example as you describe, the role is part of the group then they cannot be removed.

The way to exclude them from the group:
1) Create a whole new role for that user
2) Create another public group for the role which has the users manually added and exclude this users which you want to delete.

Please let us know if this helps.

Mark this as solved if the reply was helpful.

Thanks,
Nagendra

Hi aditya ,

In org may be the groups can be made up of other Groups, Users, Roles, etc.
Here are some steps
go to the admin goto Setup-> goto Manage Users->goto Public Groups and see how the group is defined.

if the user is added manually then you can removed yourself and the second  condition is that If they are the part of the group by proxy,.
Here are some steps from my side to exclude them from the group:
1)Step01: Firstlly you have to create new role for a user.
2) Step02:And then create another public role for the user which has the users manually added and exclude this users which you want to delete.
