Apex classes and triggers are disabled on the trial edition.

Unable to add apex classes in the trial version. The option is disabled. Also Apex triggers .

Vineeth,

Have you checked the Edition of your Salesforce trial Edition org? Apex is permitted for Salesforce orgs belonging to Enterprise, Unlimited and Developer Edition orgs only.

To verify the edition of your Salesforce org, navigate to Setup > Company Information > Org Edition.

In case you intend to write Apex code to perform some RnD you can sign up for a free lifetime Developer Edition Salesforce org by navigating to https://developer.salesforce.com > Signup button.

I believe your User's Profile may not have Author Apex permissions.

In order to enable them navigate to Setup > Users > Profile > Click the name of your respective Profile > System Permissions > Edit > Check the Author Apex box > Save.

Also remember the above requires the following Profile permissions.
  • View Setup & Configuration
  • Modify All Data
