read only depens on another field

Hi.
I have 2 questions. It is possible to have a field in read only until some other field is fill with certain value? And related, it is possible hide or not hide a field with that logic?

Hi,
1. Yes, it possible make one field as controller field and make the second field as a dependent field.
2. It is not possible on standard record creation.
