Lightning dots spinner remains after app is loaded

I converted a Classic custom app to Lighting. The app is loaded using the Lightning Utility Bar with Open CTI Softphone properties. The app appears to work, but the Lightning Dots Spinner is overlayed on top of the UI. How can I disable and hide the spinner?

Yes, I saw the link to which you referred. Maybe I should have used the word 'adapted' instead of 'converted. The app does not have any Lightning aura: components. Currently, the app only has access to Open CTI for Lightning Experience. Is there another API I can use to call hideSpinner, or something like that.
