Does the code have to be problem-free to save?

Hi,

I am trying to save a code in Developer console and I am having trouble, but there is a problem.  Does this prevent me from saving?

Is your code is correct ? And try to close and reopen console again

Every time I was trying to save the code, it would say it was saved and then not let me close the console.  I found out I do need to have the code have no problems in order to save.
