ODBC--connection to '{{Salesforce}}' failed.

Hi,
I am trying to connect to Salesforce via MS Access. When I try to login, I get an error message 'ODBC--connection to '{{Salesforce}}' failed'. When I look at my login history in Salesforce, it says 'Partner Product, Invalid Password, SimbaTechnologies/ODBCDriver/'. However, I can login from another application with exactly the same credentials and I get connected.

It is not the ODBC driver, as other people can connect from MS Access to Salesforce on my laptop.

What am I missing?

Thanks!
Kris

Hi Kris, I might have a solution here - still to be confirmed. I'll keep you informed if possible. Do not hesitate to ask again

Hi Kris. Problem resolved here. Not sure about the root-cause, but the following actions unblocked user:
a) add Profile to permitted Profiles - for all Connected Apps requiring Admin approval

b) and possibly also pay attention to History Login of User: here I've needed to reset SF password (and hence token) of User

See if this helps.

Thank you, Florent! I must have had a bad token. Although, I could swear I had tried resetting it along the way. I tried just about everything. I could login as another user, just not my own.

If it still doesn't work, then make sure your Profile is added to all the Connected Apps. Who knows...

You must first reset your password and then the security token (in that order) to successfully login.

Also, check your login history to make sure MS Access is establishing a connection with Salesforce. You should see an error or success message similar to below.

If you are connecting to a Sandbox, you need to include the test url in the additional parameters.
