I am gussing that you already have some experience with salesforce administration and also on how to build custom apps using point and click functionalities such as workflows, validations, process builders etc..

if above is the case then this is what I would recommand:

Platform Developer - 1 is still 60 Multiple Choice Question exam and it doesn't require you to write a code at all. But however, you should be able to know how to read about 15 to 20 lines of code at least.

This is certificate is more about you know what's out there in apex and Visualforce. Its about knowing different types of apex + goverbment limits for the apex + testing apex + at least able to read Apex Triggers etc... of course, not limited to this but much more.

There are lots of people would provide dumps to you means very similar questions like the one appears in exam but that is not going to do any good to you even once you get the certificate.
