My trailhead org now has my domain name - not the org name I started with - consequently my challenges all fail

In trying to complete a module I was told to create a domain - which I did. Now, when I login to trailhead (using the same user name) I am directed to my domain-named org - not the original org that was associated with my trailhead playground. Every challenge since them has failed because the challenge "failed to find" the desired setup, even though the app or change was made in my org.
For example, in the module "Assessing the Quality of the data" I am asked to install the Data.com Assessment app into my org (brave-goat-427591-dev-ed--th-con-app...), but during the process, when I am asked to select my username, the install process redirects to the domain-name org, and consequently my challenges all fail...
How do I disconnect my username from the domain-named org, so that when I do an install into my "brave-goat..." org, the app is installed into the correct org?
The modules are extremely frustrating, when it comes to installing apps (needs to be run in an Incognito environment?)

Try changing the dev org associated with your Trailhead account. Down by the "Launch" button in the Challenge area, you should see a pull-down menu that lets you log in to different orgs and select different orgs as your "hands-on-org" for that particular challenge. From there, you should be able to log in to the same org where you have installedthe Data.com Assessment app. Once you launch the org from the Challenge, double check to make sure the app installed in the org where you intended it to install. If you don't see it, rather than clicking the link in Trailhead, copy the link to the app, paste it onto the end of your dev org URL and delete the portion following ".com/" in the org URL up to "/packaging" in the pasted in URL. So the installation URL should look a lot like the link, but have your domain name or salesforce instance rather than a generic salesforce.com login URL.

  1. Copy the app installation link, which looks something like this:
  2. then launch and login to your Hands-On org from the Challenge and go to that org window, where you should see a URL like this:
  3. Paste the installation URL to the end of the org URL like this:
    • https://brave-goat-427591-dev-ed.salesforce.com/setup/forcecomHomepage.apexp?setupid=ForceComhttps://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04t36000000i5UM
  4. And then delete everything following the first  ...salesforce.com/ and up to /packaging... so you see something like this:
  5. And then hit return to install the package in the exact org you intended it to install into :)

I tried the steps above, and this is the URL that I ended up with:

https://brave-goat-427591-dev-ed.lightning.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04t1a000000REQ2

When I tried to launch it, I receive a "This site can't be reached" error message.

What am I doing wrong?

This is in lightning, not classic.
