My company uses salesforce.com classics.. but trailhead is now based on lighting experience. Would it be still neccessary for me to go through trailhead admin beginner modules?

Hi Steve,

Yes, it is true that most of the modules in Trailhead have been changed to Lightning. It is suggestible to work on Lightning experience while working on Trailhead as the content and challenges are referred in Lightning.
You can make use of Trailhead playground while working on the Trailhead challenges.
