  1. When Case is escalated,  the status of case becomes escalated..it is a criteria. so answer is criteria-based sharing rule.
  2. a)Fields being searched on for each object.b)Number of records displayed for each object.c)columns displayed for each object.

I logged into salesforce >quick find >search settings 

Through my understanding
 I Can find    
                         a. Filters by which users can narrow down results
                         b. Objects included in the search
                         d. Number of records displayed for each object.
                             and something related to colummns
