sms template

Hi everybody, I'm new in the Force.com plateforme and I really enjoy the trip. 

I'm creating my own solution for SMSing (single and bulk) and I'm struggling with templates.
I don't know how should I proceed : Should I use the existing object "EmailTemplate" and adapt it to work for my case. Or I should create my own custom object "SMS template for example" and start it from scratch.
