- Light Objects (those without Allow Sharing) configured won't appear in OWD. Make sure that Allow Sharing is checked.

I am having similar issue, i checked for "Allow Sharing" checkbox and it is checked for the custom object i am looking for but this object still not showing up under OWD when i click on "Edit". Before clicking on "Edit", i could definitely see the object and is set as "Controlled By Parent" for both "Internal" and "External" users. Can you please throw some light on this.
Thanks,
Raj
I am also facing same issue ,i can give all permission(Allow Sharing,Allow streming, Allow Bulk Api Access) at create the new custom object. If any one give please the reason.

If all basic access is given then check the Deployment Status when creating an object, It should be deployed status.
Thanks,
Jay
I hope your issue has been resolved.
If not, there can be two possible reasons:
- As Rahul said, the Allow Share option Is not selected.
- The object is getting its sharing permission from its Master object. which simply means, there exists an M-D relationship.
Thanks,Abhishek
If the object is having strongly coupled relationship with other object (e.g. having master-detail relationship to other object) then in list of "
Organization-Wide Defaults" it will have "Controlled by Parent" for both "Default Internal Access" and "Default External Access". Also, "Grant Access Using Hierarchies" will be unchecked for this object. And it won't be visible to edit when we edit " Organization-Wide Defaults i.e. Default Sharing Settings", however "Allow Sharing" is checked at Object level.
