how to add related list to visualforce?

I have created a visualforce pdf attachment to email template but I'm not sure how can I add a related list to my file.

You can not do that you need to add VF page in detail session in the end.

Can you be more specific, as I am a beginner in Salesforce?
I have a VF email template(which generates a pdf attachment also) related to the Contact object. I know how to get simple data from the object but I don't know how to get data from the related list.
