Are Case IDs (and other primary IDs of objects) unique across organizations?

There is another question about uniqueness of Salesforce ID's globally across all organizations, but the answers are conflicting (one says yes, another says no). So I'm asking here again, and also wondering if there is a source (documentation, further explanation, etc.) to confirm it?

Hi Clark,

Yes, they are unique. You can always copy the 18 character ID and paste in URL after like this: http://instance.salesforce.com/{ID}. And you will go to record since they are globally unique.

Note: To clarify a bit, in case you're still wondering, every record in "production" (any organization that uses login.salesforce.com to log in) is guaranteed to have a unique ID value that will never be duplicated in any other organization. "Sandbox" organizations will also have ID values guaranteed to be unique for records that created in Sandbox.

Hope this helps.

Please mark this as solved if it's resolved.

Thanks,
Nagendra.
