How to add image in footer of custom text type email template

i have a requirement to add a image in exsiting email template of text type , i dont want to create a new template as it is being used at many places.

Hi Abhinav,
There is no direct way to add image to existing email template of text type. You have to create a new one that is either the one with HTML (using Letterhead) or Custom (without using Letterhead). You can paste your text to html template and add your image in the footer. You can take help from here (https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewSolution?id=000175991).
