i am trying to use same name which i deleted recently..But i am getteing the error as Error: That name is already in use or has been previously used, please choose a different name.

Faced this type of use many times...Is der any way to refresh the metadata so that reference of deleted names will be removed?

If you are talking fields on a salesforce object - goto the bottom of the fields list.  There should be a link for "Deleted fields".  If you go in there - you can remove the deleted field.  Then you'll be able to use the same name again.

Thank for your respone. It is working fine for the fileds.I am facing the issue in the case of  "Reports"  and "Dashboards" names.

Report and Dashboard names?  I think you're stuck on those.  Can't ever re-use.

Anybody else know any different?
