can we create a scratch org without vscode

 vscode  is not installed in the system, can i know the procedure for creating the scratch org,Weather  it is mandatory to install the vscode?

Question 1: can we create a scratch org for the Free Developement Edition.

Hi Neelima,

Yes we can create a scratch org with out VScode. We have to install CLI and use CLI commands to create scratch orgs.

We can create Scratch orgs for Free development Edition. But we have limit that we can have only 2 active scratch orgs.
