compress pdf files in salesforce

I want to compress any pdf file( big or small) and display in browser. pdf file that has been requested through api.

Hi there,

I don't think we would be able to compress the pdf by standard functionality however there is a process mentioned in the below link to create a zip file.

thanks - i meant to reduce the file size for pdf not compress but ability  to reduce a pdf file size using js. before a file gets to salesforce i want the capability to reduce the size before it get's to salesforce
