What is the difference between AWS and Salesforce ?

Deepali KulshresthaDeepali Kulshrestha
Hi Vivek,
There are a lot of differences between AWS and Salesforce, but before going there let’s note some similarities and connections between the two.

Both are in cloud computing services.
Both are leaders in the cloud services market (Salesforce in SaaS and AWS in IaaS).
Salesforce uses AWS as its public cloud infrastructure provider.
The last one is very important as it shows the capability and position of these two companies when it comes to cloud infrastructure. Salesforce collaborated with AWS to boost its Heroku service for app development and also its primary PaaS offering, Force(.com).

When it comes to differences, here are 2 key points to remember.

AWS is the cloud services platform from Amazon, while Salesforce is a company offering a suite of applications for businesses, mostly on the SaaS and PaaS side.
This may be obvious, but we have to specific about naming services and companies. Most people just refer to Salesforce for the CRM, when in fact, there’s a lot more to Salesforce than its CRM. The Salesforce line has separate cloud products for sales, marketing and service, an AI-powered analytics service called Einstein, and services for mobile app development like Force(.com) and Heroku. AWS, on the other hand, is an Amazon subsidiary offering various cloud services, from computing to data storage to IoT.
Salesforce is more focused on customer success, while AWS is more concerned with infrastructure.
SF has always marketed itself as the key to unlocking great customer experiences using data, and that is actually the strength of the company. SF believes that everything starts and ends with the customer, and as such excels in services directly related to customer interactions. Meanwhile, as a cloud platform, AWS has always been about supporting companies and individuals with a scalable and reliable infrastructure.

I hope you find the above solution helpful. If it does, please mark as Best Answer to help others too.

Thanks and Regards,

I am 10 years experienced IT professional, now feeling to learn to new technologies to move into management roles as well as to prolong my career for another 10 years in IT industry.

Do you suggest me to move to learn Salesforce over Data-science/Devops. what edge does it have and does salesforce has enough in it to extend career for another 10 years. If so, what would be pre-requisites to learn it. Is it close to any programming language.

Hey Vivek.
Difference between AWS and Salesforce
The fact is, both Salesforce and Amazon web service ensure cloud administrations, but it has some variations.
Salesforce is considered the best CRM, while Amazon web service is deemed the main open cloud specialist organization and takes more than 40% of the market share.
Besides, AWS is both PaaS and IaaS while Salesforce is a SaaS. Salesforce sends applications that are used or facilitated on a cloud stage while Amazon web services ensure the stage wherein organizations have their administrations and applications. Also, both are giving moderate on-demand scaling results to the customers.
Moreover, these both terms work couples with various business applications, which are assisting businesses seeking to drive high incentives to their customers. Furthermore, Amazon web service is all about the cloud framework, and it offers little and broad organizations with an adaptable, moderate, and dependable framework for their updated activities.
AWS is the world’s most broadly adopted cloud platform, ensuring more than 175 fully attributed services from data centers around the world. Millions of customers, comprising the largest enterprises, globally, leading government agencies, and startups using this application.
In a nutshell, Amazon web service (https://www.sevenmentor.com/aws-classes-in-chennai) is a computing stage launched by Amazon, which has a few products like cloud framework. Salesforce Inc is a free organization ensuring the full line of cloud-based applications, which organizations can use to boost and drive client esteem.
Also, Apex language is used in Salesforce, which has been updated from C sharp, and also it is highly used by dot net development. In simple words, Salesforce is of the top-notch than AWS as it is dependent on the area of abilities and professional way you already have or seeking for.

HI Vivek

AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Salesforce (https://sfdcgo.com/what-is-salesforce-why-only-salesforce/) are two different cloud computing platforms with different capabilities and use cases.
  • AWS is a comprehensive cloud computing platform that provides a wide range of services, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). AWS allows businesses to build, deploy, and scale applications and services using a variety of tools and resources, including compute power, storage and databases.
  • Salesforce, on the other hand, is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform that provides a suite of cloud-based applications for managing customer interactions, sales, marketing and customer service. Salesforce enables businesses to manage customer relationships and data, automate workflows, and gain insights into customer behavior.
In summary, AWS is a more general-purpose cloud computing platform that can be used for a wide range of applications, while Salesforce is a specialized platform designed specifically for managing customer relationships.
