Custom 'auto number' field is not appearing in global search

Hi,

I have a custom object with a custom auto number field. There is a tab associated with object and the custom field is added in search results layout.

Now the issue is, global search is not giving suggested result but when on hitting enter, it gives the result.User-added imageUser-added image

Hi Sumedha,

Sorry for this issue you are facing.

Auto-number fields are searchable by global search. Make sure there are no filters while searching and you are searching in all objects.

Do you have a custom tab defined for the Custom object?
Custom object records appear in search results only if they have a custom tab.

When I search a record with a system-defined standard auto-number field, I didn't get the desired record. I had to click the 'Search All' link as you can see in the screenshot below. Once I clicked that I got the record.

What you can do is if you are gonna search for the same object, you can pin them by hovering on the top of the object name.
