File attachment name issue

Hi,
I have an issue with attaching files to a custom object that we created. The file attachment is part of the default related files we have in salesfore. The issue happens with there are multiple dots (.) in the filename.

In that case, it throws an error saying "Error in filename". Noticed this when there are more than 3 dots in the filename other than extension part.

Is this a limit on Salesforce? How do resolve it?

Sample PDF filename with issue : S32290_Rel.Qual.Report_rev1.asdasd.pdf

Hi Gopikrishnan,

Currently the maximum size of a file name that you can upload to Salesforce.com is 80 characters.

This would allow users to upload any kind of document without having problems with the upload. Maybe more than three dots are
not possible to use in the filename So you should have replaced your dots with an underscore, I hope it will help you and your
the problem should resolve.

I hope you find the above solution helpful. If it does, please mark as Best Answer to help others too.

Thanks,
Ajay Dubedi
