Autopopulate fields with Fields(Lookup User)

I have Opportunity Owner on Opportunity and I have created a custom object call Commission A, B and C. I want to auto fill the Commission A with existing opportunity owner. FYI- Commission A is blank. So every time a new opportunity is created commission A is updated with exiting opportunity owner. I have tried various thing thing like workflow rule, process builder but isn't working or I think I am doing something wrong. Do any one have any idea about this or any help regarding thsi problem?

Hi Kashmira,

A lookup field isn't available to update through workflow, but this can be done through Process Builder.
