steps for moving from SFO to LFO in salesforce

Experts ,
my intance is currently on classic and using Salesforce for Outlook .
we have enables sync setting as well using outlook configuration button on setup .

now planning to move on lightning .
can some guide all steps which required for moving from SFO to LFO .
also is this possible to use LFO even you are not on lightning .
what all benifits we will get after moving to LFO

So, I have checked further and I got below information for the following questions:

>>can you guide if I am using classic then also can go for LFO?
Currently, you can configure for both from the setup but do keep in mind, in December 2020, Salesforce for Outlook is retiring as mentioned in the article: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=outlookcrm_sfo_about.htm&type=5

>>can I keep active SFO for these classic users, and rest of classis users can start using LFO?
Yes but make to have only one configuration for each user as we cannot set multiple configurations for a single user.

It is also suggested to move the users from SFO to lightning for outlook but now it is being suggested to move to Einstein Activity Capture

can you guide if i am using classic then also can go for LFO ?
also should i remove first SFO or directly can enable LFO .
also if some of the users are still using outlook 2012 ,can I keep active SFO for these classic users and rest of classis users can start using LFO ?
please help me of this .
