How tough it is to become Salesforce developer ?

Can someone tell me how long it would take to become a Salesforce developer. (Considering to get a job as soon as possible) , Iam studying admin since past 1 month 5-6 hrs every day , I only know basic concepts of programming such as (data types, loops). I just Quit my job to dive in Salesforce.

Thanks for the explanation,(But I know what salesforce developer does). I am studying on trailhead since last 1 month , that's why iam asking about being a full time developer 
Iam asking . "How long period does it take for a dedicated beginner to become good enough as a  Salesforce developer and land a job? " (Pls don't repy "it depends on you")

Hey Parag,

Study can help you in understanding the basic concepts but it can't make you a good developer. Study the concepts and then work on a project to practice key aspects of Salesforce. Also, it's important for a developer to understand core features of SF. In SF, building something custom(using code) should be the last option. If something is not achieveable using OOB features or customizations, only then code should be written. SF is a platform and not a language so knowing platform should be your primary focus area.

Well the ans is quite late but , still thanks for you suggestion. I am learning some seriously new and intresting things (thanks to addictive trailhead). I have achieved my admin 201 cert after 3 months of preparation (sad and joyfully on 2nd attempt ).
I am learning apex , can you please suggest some free online materials. Paid is also ok but cheaper one(can't afford tutor or classes ).
