If i sign up for a new Salesforce Organization do i get both Production and SandBox Org Type ?

I need to sign up a new Organization in Salesforce and do some development in .Net. But i want to know when a user signs up are they given a Production instance and SanbBox instance by default ? or is Production instance by default always given and the user has to set up a SandBox for testing ?

Mel, If you sign up for salesforce it's a Developer Org(Like Production) But it just a Trail Version.

Where you can Develop anything you want but there are some Limitations, You have to contact the Salesforce team to get the full fledge Version.

For reference, you can check this too,

Salesforce does provide sandboxes of different type. Full copy sandbox is not free and SF charges additional money for that. Irrespective of type, they need to be setup for appropriate testing(Dev/QA/UAT).

If you already have access to production and sandox is created/refreshed after you got access, admin does not need to give you access to sandbox separately. But if sandbox is already there and not refreshed after you got access to production, admin has to give you access to sandbox separately.
