Email notification when resource is scheduled for fsl

Hi All, 

Is there any out of box feature in salesforce through which we can send out an email everytime a resource is scheduled in fsl. 
I know this can be done through process builder/ workflow rule but is there any out of the box feature for it.

I tried checking and I don't see any possibility of an OOB solution that can implement this scenario and there is another forum thread regarding the same and even in it, one stated the possibility of doing it with workflow.
