Prebuilt flow to reset Password

Hi, In the Winter '21 release notes you have mentioned the new prebuild flow to reset passwords. Currently, I am trying to implement this flow (first in a test environment) but got stuck. I created a button and when you click it, it will search for a recordid, and then you have to fill in date of birth and postcode. After that is done, there will be sent an e-mail to the
e-mail address from the community user connected to the recordid. We receive the e-mail but there is no link in it to redirect the community user to the password reset page.  My question is. Does the prebuild flow works out of the box? Or do I need to create a custom e-mail template first?
Hopefully you can help me out here!
Thank you
Mart

Mart,

The pre-built flows will not be fired unless we explicitly use them. This means that these will not change the current behavior of your end-customers too.

If it helps you and close your query by marking it as solved so that it can help others in the future.

Thanks.

Hello Abhishek, Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I have no idea what you mean, and it doesn’t help me any further What do you mean by “The pre-built flows will not be fired unless we explicitly use them” I have created a button, linked the flow to the button, and when I click on it, the flow starts. Is that not explicit enough? And what do you mean by “This means that these will not change the current behavior of your end-customers too.” My question still is, how do I get a link in the e-mail which will redirect the end-customer to a place where the can change their password? Could you please elaborate your answer to me? Hey Mart,  Have you gotten a solution for this yet?  I see its been a few months and I am running into the same issues. :(  I have just created a case with SF looking for an answer, but wondering if you have made any progress?

From everything I see, we need to create the link, but there is nothing specifically provided for us. (No documentation :( ) Hoping either SF or yourself will have some steps forward. :)  If I hear back from SF with an answer, I will share it here for anyone in the future looking for it as well.

I have the same question. Mark, what did you hear back from SF?

Hey all I think the flow you are referencing is not intended as a method to reset passwordds but as a guided flow for internal staff to use when talking to clients to determine their identifty and send them an email to update their password.

You speficy the contact related to the community user and the flow then runs through the checks to make sure the staff member is talking to the account owner

- it does not seem to include an actual link to update the password
- it does not check to see if the contact is actually related to an user account / has an email
- it does not update the users password

I think its intended to be a rought template that you have to update for your org

Hi

Have you looked at this Salesforce Labs package? Isn't the exact but is similar, starting point is CX team on Contact record to then find user and do password reset?
