Update Contact - how to set fields?

Hi all - new to the Mobile app, immediately stumped.

The mobile app lets us go in and "Update Contact", but it just shows us the basic fields in the Compact Layout -> System Default.

How can I customize the updateable fields?

Hi Tim,

You can create and customize compact layouts.

Review below links which have details.

https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=compact_layout_create.htm&type=5
https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/modules/salesforce1_mobile_app/salesforce1_mobile_app_compact_layouts

Hope above information was helpful.

I have built the compact layouts, and they show up fine when viewing the record.  But when I click "Update Contact" (edit), I only see the fields in the System Default layout (which cannot be changed).   Please, how do I see the same fields to edit as I see to view?

Hi Tim,

Can you check below assignment?

Primary Compact Layout is Beneficiary, which looks correct on viewing, but when I go to edit ("Update Contact"), the fields to edit revert to the System Default layout, and I can't edit any of the relevant fields.

If anyone is still reading, I figured this one out, it was a matter of Edit vs Update button.  The Edit button shows you all the fields you want, the Update button shows junk fields that are not what  you want.  Wow that was a pain.
