Not able to connect server side controller while using lightning:recordHomeTemplate

I want to do some server side actions when user click button on template. But I am not able to connect server side controller. Is it something related to lightning:recordHomeTemplate?

Hi Tiwari, 

Can you remove the usage of lightning:recordHome and check if you are able to call the server-side controller? I suggest trying with a simple example
