eyekamey apex managed sharing for calls and meetings (activity and event)
Is it possible to use apex manged sharing for calls and meetings if we set the OWD for them to private? Does apex manged sharing support these objects? I know this works for custom objects and account/contacct/case.

There is no Share object for Activities at this time, but you can make use of the "controlled by parent" option to control the permissions. You could also use a Visualforce page "without sharing" to allow access, depending on your situation and needs:
