Don't see External App License in Developer org

Trying to assign External App License to a community user. Don't see that license to assign. Does developer org come with the External App licenses?

Also, Does external app starter license allow community users to see files associated to the record? A community user is owner of both the record and file itself. Or do we need external app plus license for that?

Hi,

You get free 10 customer community licenses in dev org. Please check Administer > Company Profile > Company Information > User Licenses

Partner Community Login Active 10 0 10
Customer Community Login Active 10 0 10

I hope you find the above solution helpful. If it does, please mark as Best Answer to help others too.

Hi Abhishek,

I believe Customer Communiy and External App are two different types of Community licenses.
While I can see I have customer community license available, my question is about External app license whcih I don't see.
Any idea on the same?

Hi Shan,

In developer org (free org) you can add only two Salesforce license users but if you purchase the Salesforce paid edition then you can add any number of users in your org but you have to pay per user license in Salesforce.

In simple words,

You can't use more than 2 salesforce licenses in a free developer edition account. If you are a partner, then you can able to create a partner developer edition account that contains 10 salesforce user licenses by default which you use to build your demo and showcase to your customers, that is only the current alternate option for your scenario.

Thanks.

I understand that. It's not about I am not able to assign a user with any different license. The issue is I don't even see External App license in dropdown. Fore example I have 1 user with Salesforce License and if I try to create 2nd user I don't even see External app license. I hope that clears my question.
