Adding a new field in Log a call ?

I have created a new auto number field in Log a call. But I am unable to add this field to the page layout... I want to see whether it's working or not. If everything is good, then I want to hide this field from page layout. let me know how to add this field to the layout.

Hi Jaanu,

You did not specify on which page layout you are trying to add this field.

Faced a similar issue in the past and I have managed to do it as below.

Assuming that you want to add a custom field to a task page layout.

When you click the Log a Call button, you’re simply creating a task record under SFDC, So if you want to add a custom field that setup new custom field under Activity Custom Field and then added it on appropriate Task Page Layout.

Below are steup you need to follow
1. Login into SFDC
2. GoTo Setup->Activities->Activity Custom Fields
3. Create new custom field(here its a picklist) by clicking on New Button
4. Once you create custom picklist fields than goto Setup -> Activities -> Task Page Layout
5. Add custom field under appropriate task page layout and click on Save button

Thanks Nagendra. I want to add this new field to the "Log a Call" page layout. I did go thru the above steps adding the new field to the task page layout. Still I can't find the "log a call" page layout. Can you pls help me....
