Is there any difference between validation rule from object and from picklist

I can see validation rule from picklist values. is there any difference if i am choosing from direct object

No .. But the only think is when you create a validation rule from the picklist it will give u validation rule error message to be  display is poinited to that speficif field and you can change it ..

But there is no differnces
