Is the Salesforce Sandbox a Salesforce Developer Edition?

I am trying to work on the "Set up Salesforce Connect" unit and it wants me to install the Lightning Connect Quickstart in my Salesforce Developer Edition. I don't have one, and I can't install it in my Salesforce Sandbox. I have installed it in my company's production version. Unfortunately, I can't see the objects I am supposed to work with as per the instructions.

Does this mean I have to skip the unit? If so, how does that impede my studies in Salesforce Admin?

Short answer - no.

If we think about the login URL - Sandboxes use test.salesforce.com .  Production orgs and Developer orgs use login.salesforce.com
