can you convert a date field to a lookup field?

Hello all I have a date field on Case and I want to update it to be a lookup to a custum object. Is that possible?

I'm not sure I've understood the question, but I read it as:

You would like to change a Date field to be a Lookup Field.
- This is not possible, you would need to create a new field as a Lookup Field to the Custom object.

As per my understanding,  you cannot use case date field as lookup on custom object.
