Side tab bar in Salesforce lightning desktop version

Hi,
I am new to lightning, just wondering how to add tab in the left side bar in salesforce lightning desktop version. Using winter '16

Hi Dipankar,

1) Create a Lightning Component Tab.
     Setup-> Tab-> Lightning Component Tab
2) Under Mobile Administration select Salesforce1 Navigation and include that  Tab.

Hi Abhilash,
The option you suggested is applicable for Salesforce1 mobile app only. But my concern is showing the tab on desktop version of lightning app. If you login to your winter 16 org (lightning enabled), then you will see a blue left side tab bar, which contains standard objects. I wanted to add my custom tab there.

Unfortunately, this is not feasible at this point. User seems to select  "App" on the top right corner, which contains tabs. Not ideal, pl let me know if you got any workarounds.

Based on the notes, this is not feasible in Winter'16 release - Sidebar and Home page are not customizabel. Safehardbor - Spring'16 release. Please check, if you think this is the best answer to keep the community clean.
