Updating mobile number of Salesforce User

Hello All,

 I have a requirement to update the mobile number of Salesforce User.
 I created a user 'XXXX' with the mobile number 12345
 Then, when i try to edit / Change the mobile number of user 'XXXX' with 9999. It is not getting recognized and updated.
 Please guide if there is something needs to be done...

Hi Krishna,

I would suggest you remove the mobile number completely from the user profile. Save it. 
Then log in again from a different device, and you should be prompted for the mobile number verification and run through the process again. Thsi should work. Otherwise, SMS might not be enabled and you should check the below knowledge articles:

Hi Krishna,

Although it allowed you to create it with a random number, when you update it, it needs to match the phone number format. if you wish it to be different, but a + sign before it

 Yes, Even after updating the phone number with the valid mobile number in the correct format, still the number is not getting recognized and taken from Salesforce side.
I am not sure about the root cause of this, can you please explain in detail.

What is the error message you are receiving?

Hi Abib,

 I am not receiving any error message. New mobile number gets saved in the system.
 But, for the new number, Salesforce is not sending any one time pin via SMS.
 So, it means that, Salesforce is not recognizing the new mobile number right ??
