how to upload excel file in to standard objects without using external tools ...iam trying to upload csv files but it was working ..when we comes to excel not uploading......

Can you please clarify where exactly you want to upload this excel file like in notes & attachment section or any VF file. We can easily upload file in Notes & Attachment section.
