Reviewed Managed package still counts against limits

Hi,
I just got our app passed the security review, listed it on the app exchange and the installed it on a sandbox. But when I look at it in the "Installed Packages" section of setup, the "Limits" box is ticked.

I thought that once the app was installed as a managed package from the app exchange it was immune from the limits.

Have I missed a step?

Apologies, should have re-read your original post! Have you looked at the limits usage in the org where you have installed it? Perhaps the limits box is checked but its not actually had an impact on the limits?

Also, the link you posted previously explains that 'all “managed packages” that are posted on the AppExchange don’t count against your system limits.' I assume this means the package has to be listed. I don't think this would be an issue for you as it sounds like you have reached the stage of having your app listed.

My only other suggestion would be to contact Salesforce directly about this. You should be able to raise a case from you org, but not your developer org where you built the package. This means it might be better to call them and quote your dev org ID so that they can provide support for the org where you actually built the app.

It just depends on the specific package you are installing. See this older forum post for more info:

Hi Filikin,

The only thing I can think of then is that the provider of the app needs to make some sort of update. It may be worth contacting them directly to see if there's anything they can do.

I raised a case yesterday and this morning the limits box is unticked.

That's great Filikin glad you got it sorted.

Custom fields defined after installation that don't have a namespace are counted against the object's limit as usual. Let's imagine you have managed fields on a standard object A and a managed object B, respectively. Your managed fields on A do not count towards the overall field limit for that object. Your managed custom fields on B, therefore, do not count towards B's limit. However, if an administrator adds fields to B after it's been installed, those fields count against B's field limit. If B has 100 custom fields and your Business technology solutions (https://www.skypotential.com/) organization's maximum is 500 fields per object, B can still have 500 custom fields once it's implemented. More fields added later in a package update will not count against the limit during the upgrade process, therefore installation will not fail even if the maximum limit has already been reached.
