UNABLE_TO_LOCK_ROW during Flow

While running a Flow that takes a parent object Foo__c and inserts child records Bar__c, I occassionally get the UNABLE_TO_LOCK_ROW error on Foo__c. Any ideas on how I can avoid this from within the Flow editor?
